What Is Aging in Community?

Aging in Community (AIC) is a new model of neighborhood that enhances well-being, provides sustainable living, and promotes an integral role for all ages.

  1. Include people of all ages, especially elders.

  2. Uphold a lifestyle that is ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable.

  3. Enhance wellness of the mind, body and spirit.

  4. Provide access to the home and community.

  5. Encourage interdependence and reliance on one another—within the community and in the greater society.

  6. Support opportunities at every age for civic and social engagement, lifelong education, and creative expression.

Why Factory-Built Construction?

Instead of being at the mercy of the elements, systems-built construction fabricates components within an indoor, controlled environment. This allows workers to concentrate on what they do best—build.

Not only does this result in a higher quality product, but running offsite and onsite construction concurrently can shave months off a construction schedule. Flexible prototypes support design consistency, and costs are much easier to anticipate.

You can adjust the unit type mix up until the actual start of production, allowing you to better adapt to changing markets.. It’s also easier to phase project development knowing that the construction team will be the same, independent of the schedule; this facilitates both labor and quality consistency.
